Finish Details

  • The finish of the run is at Jenolan Caves, just outside Caves House. Jenolan Caves is approx 75km from Katoomba, and takes maybe 90mins to drive from Katoomba (lots of winding hills).
  • After the run, you should receive a medal if you complete within the 7hr cutoff period.
  • At the finish, all the facilities are at Caves House - bistro, coffee shop, bar - so there is plenty of food and drink - just make sure you bring some cash - there is an ATM in the Caves Ticket office (but with 800 extra people assume it could run out). There are phones, but the only mobile phone reception is with Telstra. There are toilets.
  • Driving:There is car parking for friends and family - the earlier they arrive the better - often on Six Foot day, you have to park WAY OUT of Jenolan Caves as it is quickly filled. In fact, for most spectators, it will be far easier to take the spectator bus that the race organises. If you catch the spectator bus, you will be given a free ticket for a cave tour. Also think about car sharing to reduce the number of cars going to Jenolan. It may even be better to drive to Jenolan via Oberon, its a bit further round but you will miss a lot of traffic & queuing.   • You can pick up your bag that was transported to the finish.
  • There are 15min post-race massages available for a cost of $20 each. First come first served.
  • Showers are available in Caves House. If you don't bring a towel, they can b ehired from reception. First come first served.
  • Runners staying at Caves House can get changed/showered in their rooms in luxury rather than mix with the dirty hordes sharing.
  • You are encouraged to sit on the terrace and cheer home your fellow runners, especially those that are having difficulties!
  • Awards Presentation commences approx 3:45pm - we usually start on time and keep it as brief as possible (30mins). This is at the front of Caves House right next to the finish chute.
  • The buses will leave for Katoomba immediately after the awards presentation, When the first is filled it will go. When the 2nd bus is filled it will go etc. The First bus is usually approx 4:00pm. The last bus usually leaves at 5pm or slightly before
  • Everyone had the opportunity to purchase bus tickets for themselves and friends/family with their entry form. Your name will be ticked off as you get on the bus.
  • If you failed to purchase a ride, but want to travel anyway, you can do this ONLY if seats are available, and on payment of $10.
