Mandatory Gear

Given the comprehensive aid stations and support of course from the RFS volunteers the only mandatory gear we require runners to have is a personal hydration device given our no disposable cups policy. This can be at a minimum the reusable cup provided at registration.

Note for the 2023 race there is a small chance that the firetrail on the pluviometer climb will not be repaired for vehicle access and if this is the case runners will need to self support over the 3km as we will not be able to have the 2 aid stations usually on that part of the course. We will keep entrants updated but as a contingency you should plan to carry a hand held bottle to fill before this climb.

Key points at a glance

Bag drop

Competitors can drop bags only at either Cafe 2773 or the KCC car park, there is no bag drop at the start line. Please use the tag attached to your bib to tie to your bag.

These bags will be transported to the Race Finish for collection, you will need your bib to collect your bag. Please do not pack any valuables, phones, liquids etc in your bag. The organisers take no responsibility for the loss of any items through this service.

Finish

Due to the closure of the main road to Jenolan Caves (5 Mile) for the foreseeable future due to landslips the official finish for 2022 will be at the Jenolan Caves Cottages which the previous course goes past. This essentially removes the last 4km of the course previously used. There is a new 4km loop added at the end of Black Range, details here

The Race Committee is still working with key stakeholders (RFS, traffic management and bus company) to finalise details for spectator access details to the new finish area on race day and also the shuttle buses back to Katoomba
